Château Gasquerie 2005, Côtes de Castillon, Bordeaux, France

This château is a little gem. Situated on a plateau in the Mombadon area, close to Puisseguin.

The seven hectares of vineyards are planted with 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, these same percentages have been used for the grape mix. The wine has spent twelve months in 20% new oak.

The result is a wine that offers remarkable value for money, especially as 2005 was one of the greatest vintages and is recommended from drinking from now through to 2012.

A deep purple colour with a bouquet of rich black fruit and toasted coffee notes.
